A recent study has shown that eating a healthy diet before and after conception may reduce the risk of miscarriage.
The research found that a nutritious diet high in fruits, vegetables, seafood, dairy, eggs, and grains could lower the risk of miscarriage by up to 61%. Eating a well-balanced diet rich in antioxidants and low in pro-inflammatory and unhealthy foods may also lower the risk of miscarriage.
In contrast, a diet high in processed foods may double the risk of miscarriage.
Almost one in six pregnancies result in miscarriage. To lower the risk, doctors suggest making lifestyle changes such as maintaining a healthy diet and refraining from smoking and drinking alcohol before and during early pregnancy.
